One of my favourite things about taking photos is how you can look at them days, months or even years later and they still have the ability to transport you right back to the moment they were taken. It has been a few months since my family was here on holiday and I am finally getting to the end of sorting through our holiday photos. CONTINUE READING!
I can’t get enough of stripe shirts and white anything these days. Stripes are timeless and although I will always love black, white is so much better in the heat. I am also digging the gladiator sandal trend that is happening this summer. Generally, I try not to pick up on the passing trends too much, but these are just too cute and so easy to dress down or up depending on the situation. Versatility is key when you live in Bangkok, where your day can begin with a champagne brunch and end with $2 street noodles. What can I say, I love this city – you just never know what each day has in store. CONTINUE READING!
Wishing my mum a happy Mother’s Day with a post that is entirely her clothing! I can see her rolling her eyes now. Raiding my family’s closet is one of my favorite things to do. I love you mum! CONTINUE READING!
I’m back!!! I think this has officially been the longest I’ve gone without a blog post since I created A Piece of Elise. Shocking, I know! Having said that, just because you haven’t heard from me doesn’t mean I forgot about you. I have actually been working hard creating all kinds of amazing content that will be coming your way this week. I am very excited to share it all with you. CONTINUE READING!
I’ve been lucky enough to get to visit many hotels in and around the city, but none of them have tickled my fancy quite like the W Hotel Bangkok. At first I was skeptical, given that the overall decor isn’t really my style, but they managed to have me totally hooked within 2 hours of walking in the door. It got to the point where I felt like they could see into my head, to do everything to entertain me in the best way possible. I was just like a kid in a candy shop, running around giggling over all the cool things. CONTINUE READING!
Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of A Piece of Elise! It’s hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. It feels like just last month that I made my wordpress.com account and showed up at a Business In Heels networking event and tried calling myself a blogger. I didn’t know it at the time, but Business In Heels was probably the best thing I could have done at that point. By the end of the party I had met so many lovely ladies, many who have blogs themselves, who would end up teaching me almost all that I know about the internet. They welcomed me with arms wide open and didn’t laugh (too hard) at the fact that I didn’t even know what a Twitter “handle” meant. CONTINUE READING
So long as I am not having one of those days where I feel I have “nothing” to wear, putting together outfits is pretty much one of my favorite ways to spend the day. I also enjoy lying on my bed wearing PJ’s, imagining all the outfits I COULD wear if it’s wasn’t so damn hot out.
If you are like me and enjoy adorning your body with epic pieces of clothing, then keep reading because I’ve got something that you’re probably going to like.
I’ve teamed up with myfashionstage.com to let you know about their current “New Year New Look” contest. All you have to do is upload an outfit, get the most likes and then WIN $500 USD! Cha-ching. CONTINUE READING!
Nothing beats skinny jeans and stilettos, especially when it’s Levi’s Revel Curve ID and a pair Louboutin. The Revel jeans hold their shape the exact way in which you bought them (so none of that stretching business) and the Curve ID means you will get the perfect fit. If it wasn’t so hot here I would probably live in them! CONTINUE READING
Writing about beauty or how to make yourself look “good” has never really been my thing. The whole idea of my blogging about makeup just feels a little bit too superficial, and frankly, that’s just not what A Piece Of Elise is about. In case you’re new to my blog, it’s mostly about having fun and being yourself and ultimately expressing that through your clothing. You will see that in most of my posts I’m sporting a giant smile because I love what I do and I definitely do not take fashion (or myself) too seriously. If you fall in love with something that looks absolutely ridiculous, it would make my day to see you wear it. I am not going to sit here and write about fashion rules or things that are most flattering for your body, because that’s just not how I see it. Having said that, I am completely obsessed with bold lipstick, I think it’s a great way to make an outfit that much more fun. CONTINUE READING!
