Where’s the Cake?

Today is the big day! A Piece of Elise is officially one year old. I am so giddy this morning, I feel like I have a human baby who is having a birthday. I will be whipping out the Mimosas in about 2.7 seconds.

This past year has been one of the most fulfilling of my life. I have realized that the dreams which scare us the most are probably the most important to us. Getting myself to make this blog was one of the most worrisome situations for me; I was pouring my heart out to the virtual world, allowing everyone who knows me and anyone who doesn’t able to judge me in any way they wanted. It’s kind of like sharing a diary with the whole wide world.

What I have realized since writing my first post is that it’s actually very freeing to be open. As someone who wasn’t easily able to share their thoughts, realizing that I could instead write them was a big step in my dealing with the things that go on in my head. Although I generally keep the subject of A Piece of Elise quite light and refreshing, it is still a very useful process for me to channel these random ideas into something that I can share with those around me, or go back and learn from what I have written in the past.

Along with my own personal development, the adventure that A Piece of Elise and myself have taken this past year has included all sorts of amazing people. Since creating the blog, I have met an entire new set of friends who are in the industry. I have also developed even stronger relationships with people I already knew, as I have literally pushed my friendships to the limit by demanding so much help from others. I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for all the times in which I have forced my family & friends to walk around taking photos of me, or for putting up with me as I spend all my time on Instagram. You all know who you are, I am eternally grateful. If it wasn’t for my you, I wouldn’t have any new blog posts.

Now this brings us to you, all of A Piece of Elise’s SUPER COOL READERS. You all mean the world to me. Without you guys, this blog would be nothing. As I mentioned before, this blog is my baby. Given that you all bring this baby to life, makes you more important to me than you may ever imagine. I know that’s weird because many of you have never met me, but you have all played a role in my life that has helped my grow more in 365 days than I ever thought possible. So thank you, thank you and thank you. I love you guys!
